(c) Ideally, the print or slide should not have been used in previous seasons inter-club competitions, but selection is at the discretion of the Competition Secretary.

(d) Print size, including mount, should not exceed 400mmx500mm (16x20ins.).

(e) Commercially processed material is acceptable.

2. Intra-Club Competitions (League Competitions etc)

(a) See Rule 1(a).

(b) See Rule 1(b).

(c) See Rule 1(d).

(d) See Rule 1(e).

(e) The Print and/or Slide will be disqualified if it has had a placing (1,2 or 3) in a previous intra-club league competition in the Current club season.

(f) The Print and/or Slide will be disqualified if it has been entered in any Intra-Club competition in any previous club session.

(g) You may enter 4 Prints and/or 4 Slides in each competition. Prints must be mounted and have your club number and title on the back. Slides should be spotted on the bottom left hand corner and should also show your club number and title.

3. Annual Competition

(a) See Rule 1(a).

(b) See Rule 1(b).

(c) See Rule 1(d).

(d) See Rule 1(e).

(e) The Print and/or Slide will be disqualified if it has been entered in an Annual Competition, whatever the marking. Prints and/or Slides can be new for this competition or you can use entries from the current seasons League Competitions, whatever the mark.

(f) You may enter 4 Prints and/or 4 Slides in each competition. Prints must be mounted and have your club number and title on the back. Slides should be spotted on the bottom left hand corner and should also show your club number and title.

(g) There are three sections in Print and Slide entries. These are Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. This should also be marked on the slide or print.

4. Print Panel Competition

(a) See Rule 1(e).

(b) A panel consists of up to six prints.

(c) Prints can be mounted onto a single board, or on multiple boards.

(d) The panel does not have to ‘tell a story’ but there should be a cohesive link between the prints.

(e) Prints can be colour, B&W or a combination.

(f) Prints should be labelled to indicate viewing sequence, if applicable.

5. Annual Exhibition

(a) This is usually held at the Gallery in Calderglen Country Park after the end of our season.

(b) Prints must be mounted although framed would be preferable. Prints previously unseen would also be preferable although previously seen work will be accepted. Due to space limitations the Competition/Exhibition secretary has the authority to use his/her discretion to edit work submitted for exhibition.

6. General Points regarding competitions

(a) Re: delivery of slides to Competition Secretary on club competition hand-in nights: slides must be put in boxes provided and not in envelopes or other packaging or in bags containing prints. This can result in slides being lost or misplaced. It may also mean that the said slides may miss being placed in the competition that they were entered for. This is the responsibility of the photographer and not of the club or Competition Secretary.

(b) Prints should be put in the appropriate portfolio case or bag provided for them and must also be removed from all plastic bags or packaging. Please ensure also that all Velcro tabs are removed from backs of prints as these do scratch the surface of other photographers’ prints.

(c) Images submitted for competitions may be used by and for the club for various events throughout the season; such events being slide or print competitions against other clubs, SPF & GDPU events or for purposes of advertising the club; such events will always be mentioned at club meetings.

(d) Copyright of images must be that of the photographer who has entered the work. Anyone found infringing copyright shall be disqualified from all remaining competitions of the season and results from any already entered shall be nullified.

(e) Collection of Entries: Entries shall be returned by the competition secretaries. Due to damage / fingerprints to slides by a minority of club members after previous competitions please wait for your slides to be returned.
